There are three general types of Panic Attacks, and they are Hyperventilation, Specific Phobias, and Panic Disorder. The first two are more often experienced by people who are in situations where there is a good deal of stress and anxiety.

Different people react differently to these situations. Some people seem to panic and shake when under stress, while others do not. Some people have a reaction that they develop.

What Is A Panic Attack?

A panic attack is a sudden feeling of terror that the person experiences. They don’t understand why they are having this kind of anxiety, but believe that it must be because of something they are thinking. Other times, a person may not experience a panic attack at all and simply think that the panic attacks are their fault. That is the person who suffers from Anxiety Disorder and is prone to this kind of thinking pattern.

Anxiety Disorder is a type of disorder that can result in your life being much more difficult than it should be. You might think that it is something that is challenging to get over, but that may be far from the truth. Ways To Relax

The word “relax” may seem to be kind of a generic word, and it might just bring into mind kicking-back in a comfy chair. But, there’s more to the idea relaxing than that.

Michigan Medicine at the University of Michigan tells us that relaxing means “calming the mind, body, or both”. You can feel more peaceful & calm when you quiet your mind.

Relaxing The Mind

My personal favorite way to calm my mind is to take a deep breath (breathing in deep enough to feel it at the bottom on my stomach), holding for a few seconds, then exhaling. I repeat that two or three times. It works like a charm for me – every time.

Other ideas for relaxing the mind are soaking in a warm bath, listing to soothing music, practicing meditation, keeping a journal, and using guided imagery. Here are more breathing exercises for relaxation.

Relaxing The Body

Ideas for relaxing the body include doing yoga, taking a walk through an area you enjoy, getting a massage, and trying progressive muscle relaxation.

While it may seem counter-intuitive, doing physical exercise can help to release endorphins in your body that can help you to feel better.

Here are two more resources for relaxing in more traditional ways and creative ways.

Talking With A Professional

Another thing that you can do is to look into getting some therapy for your anxiety. People with anxiety disorders are often advised to see a therapist for help in getting rid of their condition. There are many different methods of therapy for anxiety disorders, so see what works for you.

Alternative Approaches

One option that you might consider is to take herbal supplements to help with panic disorder. Herbal supplements are something that looks to be increasingly popular among people who suffer from anxiety disorders.

There are many different kinds of herbal supplements that can be prescribed to you, and these come in the form of capsules or liquids. Consider looking for supplements that contain things like ginkgo biloba, theaflavin, ginseng, lemon balm, saw palmetto, and others.

If you – or someone you know is suffering from panic disorder, it can be life-altering. It can lead to so many issues including relationship problems, depression, and stress that are really a problem. A great way to deal with the problem can be to learn how to control your panic attacks naturally.
